Recently the variants of COVID-19 is spreading and it is really fearful. The Delta variant, Delta plus variant, Alpha etc. Here I recommend one TCM method that will be used to diminish ratio of death in the serious stage of COVID-19. This is not my personal opinion but this from medical reports that supports it.
In around 1970, a specialist of emergency medicine, Wang Qin Da in China said there is three stages and three methods in emergency situation. the first one is systemic inflammation, the second is blood stagnation ( bad circulation ) and the third is the multiple organs are not functioning ( mal functions of multiple organs ). Most of emergency situation from inflammation that threatens the lives of patients usually pass these three stages and then easily die. Here the second one, blood stagnation is about the blood becomes sticky and becomes very bad because of immunological reaction in the body. Most of treatments of inflammation is focusing on how to remove the inflammation but just few people think about blood stagnation. Blood stagnation can boost the break down of function of blood that leads to mal function of organs. Blood stagnation can happen from serious systemic inflammation.
From some reports, Heparin increased the survival rate from serious stage of Covid-19. Heparin is a kind of anti-coagulant of blood. But they say they need more clinical experiment. So modern medicine also think the removing blood stagnation can help the situation of serious inflammation.
Form prof. Wang Qin Da, removing blood stagnation during the stage of systemic inflammation will prevent the patient enter the worse situation and also diminish the death rate. In the early 2000s, when SARS happened in CHINA, they invented one formula, Xue Bi Jing, that is specially for eliminating blood stagnation. The main herbs are Hong hua, chi shao, Chuan xiong, Dang gui... very much similar to the formula, Xue Fu Zhu Yu Tang that is designed to eliminate the blood stasis. Any way, many patient survived after this special formula was used for the patients.
And now Covid-19, in China, they use the formula Xue Bi Jing to eliminate the blood stasis for the patients of dangerous stages of Covid-19 and got the good result. I think now just vaccine but also the important thing is using the effective medicine for patients survive and we can have some hints from this method, eliminating blood stasis.
